Bottlenose has a Standard Platform design, set up, and functionality that applies to both website products: Pre-Designed HomePage and Custom HomePage. Our Standard Platform reflects an approach we have taken. It starts with designing e-commerce websites for a select group of merchants - fine wine stores, liquor stores, restaurants with wine bars, and online only wine & spirits retailers. Next, it provides all of the basic tools, components, and features that these merchants need to be successful selling online in the USA. Finally, the platform makes Bottlenose, not the merchant, responsible for setting up the website, posting items, configuring the shopping cart, training, and ongoing support & maintenance, once the site is launched.

    • sets up shipping and delivery: one shipping carrier (Fed Ex / UPS / DHL) with the Age Verification fee added to carrier shipping charge, accepted credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discovery), any handling / box cost charges to be added to the carrier charge, sales tax for in-state shipments, states to ship to, and delivery options (ground, next day, second day, pick-up at store, basic local delivery)
    • sets up your Order Processing method - Manual or a Payment Gateway from Authorize.Net
    • continually feeds your inventory to wine-searcher.com and Google Product Search (formerly Froogle)
    • sets up your Google Analytical Reports in your Admin Control Panel

  • Key Home Page ingredients: Your stores branding, site navigation (browse by Type / Region / Producer / Price), text, inventory navigation, featured products, articles, upcoming events, newsletter sign up, Advanced Search, Simple Search, View Cart, View Account (note: java script, mouse overs, media / flash, interactive maps, interactive gift registry / wine club / gift certificates are not part of the Bottlenose Standard Platform)
  • Shopping cart comes with pre-defined screens: Create An Account, Payment Information, Review and Submit Your Order, Order Summary ((Check out screen includes: shipping to, shipping options, item information (quantity, title, if wine - critic rating icons, pricing), total order summary, payment method, billing address, and gift notes section))
  • Orders are emailed with encrypted credit card information for retailer to process. Consumer is automatically emailed an order acknowledgment with order #. Once order has been processed / shipped, retailer can check “Shipped” status box in their Admin Control Panel, which emails consumer their order has shipped
  • Unlimited number of Item Shop pages and articles that can be written
  • Dynamic website construction - only your items from your most recent POS file are available for sale. Browsing and Search menus adjust automatically so that the consumer only sees what is actually available for sale.
  • When viewing item detail page, consumers have ability to email to a friend, bookmark, and share item information. If item is a wine, can write cellar notes
  • Consumers are presented with up to three items, “Customers who purchased this also bought” these. Only items that fit the Bottlenose algorithm and are part of the retailers inventory will be shown
  • Every page of your website contains your store branding and key links
  • Wines are organized by country, appellation, region, varietal, and vintage (Bottlenose treats every new vintage as a new item), enabling consumer to navigate and search in a variety of ways.
  • Includes pricing fields: 1. Regular 2. Sale 3. Pack Size sold in 4. Case Discounting (one flat rate - Sale items automatically disabled)
  • POS file or inventory file submissions are accepted and processed 24/7 - unlimited number of submissions (note: Bottlenose knows how to work with virtually every POS system and with those retailers that do not have a POS system)
  • Retailer has the ability to upload images, add descriptions, and tasting notes. Any retailer uploads stay local to that retailers site if the information / image is not readily found using Item Management principles
