Bottlenose - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I process credit card transactions?

As of July 2009, Bottlenose is transitioning existing customers to a Verifone IPCharge Payment Gateway.  With newly signed up Bottlenose customers, the Gateway is automatic.  Bottlenose determined that using a Gateway is the correct way of processing credit cards.  It makes our customers websites PCI Compliant.  It's more efficient.  The Gateway verifies funds, checks cards per fraud filters set up by retailer, and captures (sends) the funds to the retailers merchant account once the retailer tells the Gateway to do so.

Regarding credit card information, Verifone stores the credit card information and creates a customer ID # for reference purposes.

Bottlenose authorized reseller ID is 135.  To visit Verifone's website on this topic, go to: www.verifone.com/card-acceptance/ipcharge.aspx
